QSPI Exerciser & Protocol Analyzer

The PGY-QSPI-EX-PD is both a QSPI Protocol Analyzer and a host adapter with extensive functions for recording and debugging the communication between the host and the design to be tested. The PGY-QSPI-EX-PD enables users to test the respective QSPI designs for their specifications by configuring the PGY-QSPI-EX-PD as master / slave, generating QSPI traffic and decoding QSPI protocol packets.

Multi Domain Ansicht

Multi-Domain View provides the full view of QSPI log activity in a single GUI. The user can set up the analyzer to generate QSPI traffic using a GUI or script. The user can record the protocol activity on a selected event and decode the transition between master and slave. The decoded results can be displayed in the timing diagram and in the protocol list window with autocorrelation.

The PGY-QSPI-EX-PD supports the QSPI traffic generation via GUI or script. The user can easily generate data traffic using the GUI to test the DUT. The script-based GUI provides flexibility to emulate all expected traffic in the real world, including fault injections. In this sample script, the user can generate QSPI traffic as follows:

  • Script Line # 1: PAGE_PROGRAM
  • Script Line # 2: FAST_READ
  • Script Line # 3: PAGE_PROGRAM
  • Script Line # 4: FAST_READ
  • Script Line # 5: SECTOR_ERASE

Timing view provides the plot of CS, CLK, DQO and DQ1 signals with bus diagram. Overlaying of Protocol bits on the digital timing waveform will help easy debugging of Protocol decoded data. Cursor and Zoom features will make it convenient to analyze Protocol in timing diagram for any timing errors. Protocol window provides the decoded packet information in each state and all packet details with error info in packet. Selected frame in Protocol listing window will be auto correlated in timing view to view the timing information of the packet.

The setup view of PGY-QSPI-EX-PD allows the user to set the QSPI chip selection (CS), the clock polarity (CPOL), the clock phase (CHPA), the QSPI rate of STR or DTR and the different modes of Generate QSPI like Extended, Dual or Quad.
