Stop capturing a trigger with the Beagle USB Power Analyzer
Introduction
The Total Phase Beagle USB 480 Power Protocol Analyzer is a powerful tool that not only provides fast, non-disruptive bus monitoring, but also enables VBUS current and voltage measurement in our industry-leading data center software. Engineers can easily monitor power levels on VBUS in real time, which can fix irregular power allocations for more efficient use of the USB protocol.
This tool also offers advanced USB 2.0 triggering and an extra large hardware buffer of 256 MB. The 256MB hardware buffer allows engineers to capture larger amounts of data before triggering, allowing them to perform complex debugging.
The advanced USB 2.0 trigger functions:
- Create state-based trigger conditions for data patterns, packet types, error types, events, timing and other criteria
- Up to eight independent, non-sequential states and six matches per state for USB 2.0 acquisitions
- Initiate triggers based on VBUS current or voltage thresholds
- Immediate live filtering of real-time bus traffic
- Digital inputs and outputs for synchronization with external logic
Setting up a stop trigger:
1) Open the Device Settings menu
2) Configure the size of the pre-trigger buffer to 99% to capture the maximum possible data before the trigger condition.
3) Uncheck "Infinite Capture".
4) Under Additional Settings, select the Complex Triggers configuration.
5) Under Status Match / Action, set up the trigger condition using the match options. There are match options for data patterns, timers, and bus events.
6) Set the action to "Start Capture".
7) Click OK and exit the trigger menu
8) Click on Start Recording
As soon as the trigger occurs, the data is downloaded from the integrated hardware memory of the Beagle USB 480 Power Analyzer to the PC. Data collection is limited to 256MB because Infinite Collection is not selected and collection will automatically stop when the trigger condition occurs because the pre-trigger buffer has been set to 99%.
